Lift-In

1st May

2025 - Lift In - May 1

We will follow the same pattern we've followed for the last few years: if Your boat is being lifted in the morning, then You will work the morning shift, and the same for the afternoon. Lift in the afternoon, then Your schedule to work is in the afternoon.
For those that have volunteered to assist on the opposing shifts, club volunteer hours will be credited.
(I wouldn't mind a few more volunteers in the afternoon to assist with the fence removal and gate installation at the end of the day.....bring gloves and a few wrenches [or return mine from last year!!...lol]).

For the day of lift, PLEASE have the following ready:

  • Fenders to Starboard. You will be lowered into the water bow facing south.
  • A single bow and single stern tag-line, approx 20'.
  • Ensure Your motor starts (or have a set of oars ready...kidding), let me know if You suspect You are going to have problems so I can pre-arrange a tow.
  • ENSURE YOUR DOCK FEES HAVE BEEN PAID.  Your boat will not be allowed into a slip without payment and proof of insurance....not negotiable!
  • You will more than likely be mooring in the same slip as last year, so prepare Your dock lines accordingly.
  • PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, make sure Your boat is UNLOCKED before You splash. The 1 minute it takes for You to fumble for Your key/combination to open the companion way, adds up very quickly when 30 boats are fumbling......(come ask me what the crane costs for that extra hour, because they don't charge by the half hour!!)
  • A smile, a great attitude and possibly a little bit of forgiveness toward me (if I start yelling about Your locked boat).

Safety Meetings will be held at the mast hoist at 6:45am for the morning shift and 12:20pm for the afternoon shift.

Hard hats and safety boots are required for the compound sling crew.
PFD's are recommended for those on dock sling crew, boat movers and dock assist.
Dress warm, the water is cold and it will be cool once the wind picks up.

Complimentary burgers, hotdogs, water and pop will be served at lunch.

Here's to a safe launch and a great season ahead!!!
