3,621 Hours Recorded. Countless Contributions Appreciated

Behind another successful sailing season are the members who make it all possible. This year, BS&BC recorded 3,621 volunteer hours, and countless additional contributions that make our club a special community.
A Club Powered by Volunteers
Throughout the 2025-2026 season, our members contributed more than 3,621 recorded volunteer hours across nine areas of club activity.
From AbleSail and Mentored Sailing to racing, cruising, maintaining our facilities, organizing social events, and supporting club operations, our members demonstrated what makes BS&BC such a remarkable volunteer-driven community.
And we know the recorded hours only tell part of the story. Many members quietly step up throughout the year, lending a hand, sharing their expertise, and helping others without ever recording their time.
Keeping Tuesday Night Racing on Course
A special thank you goes to everyone on our Race Committee who helps keep Tuesday night racing running smoothly throughout the season.
Whether dealing with unpredictable weather, shifting winds, or the occasional race mark that decides to drift off course, the committee works hard to make racing enjoyable, organized, and fair for everyone.
A particular shout-out goes to Doug Edwards and the crew aboard Underway, our club's race committee boat. Their dedication, preparation, and countless hours on the water are a big part of what makes Tuesday night racing such a highlight of our season.
Another Successful Lift-Out
Our sailing season also concluded with another successful two-day lift-out, masterfully coordinated by Shaun Berrington, our Rear Commodore - Infrastructure, and supported by the many volunteers who came together to make it happen.
From coordinating the lifting sequence and operating equipment to handling lines, moving boats, and preparing cradles, lift-out is one of the biggest team efforts on our club calendar.
Thanks to everyone's cooperation and commitment, the event ran smoothly and safely.
As Commodore Scott Lowell shared following lift-out:
Thank you everyone who once again demonstrated what a strong and dedicated club can do working together!

More Than Just a Sailing Club
What makes BS&BC special is not just our boats, docks, or beautiful waterfront location. It is the people who generously give their time to support one another.
Whether you volunteered for a regular shift, led a project, mentored a fellow sailor, helped organize an event, served on a committee, or simply stepped in when an extra hand was needed, your contribution made a difference.
Thank You, BS&BC Volunteers!
Thank you for another wonderful season. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the water in 2027!
