Brett Evans Comes to the Other Side!

After being a part of the Burlington Sailing and Boating Club community for a few years, Brett Evans has made the exciting leap from social member to senior member! Brett will now skipper his own boat, Valhalla, partnering with Floyd, who will continue to skipper Dark Side.

Brett has been an active participant at the club, attending social events, cruises, and Thursday night races—often working the mark boat or crewing. His new boat, Valhalla, is a 1984 Hallman 20 built in Beamsville, retrofitted with a bowsprit to match the configuration of later 21s. Valhalla has spent the last few years sailing the Ottawa River and Lac Dollard-des-Ormeaux and will now be berthed alongside Dark Side.

While Valhalla isnt a racer by nature, Brett is looking forward to continuing to crew for Thursday night races and staying active on the race course. Meanwhile, Floyd, a seasoned sailor, is excited to pass on more of his knowledge as they both enjoy the challenges of harnessing the wind.

Keep and eye out for Brett and Floyd putting Valhalla through her paces this season! Join us in congratulating Brett on this exciting new chapter and welcoming Valhalla to our waters.
